Orbs, believe it or not come in many shapes and sizes and whether you believe in the phenomenon or not, strange things have been seen, Videoed, photographed and documented. Some believe they are apparitions of ghosts, others say they are a new type of life form, while others seem to think they are just flies, rain or tricks of the camera lens.

I, on a personal note, am not too sure about this phenomenon, for example when I bought my computer 3 years ago, I purchased a Agfa Digital Camera at the same time. Photography always interested me, but was an expensive hobby, until now. For those of you who don't know, a digital camera does not require film, as it saves the images digitally to memory cards, which you then download to your computer and print off what ever takes your fancy, saving time, effort and money.

As you can see, something does appear to be in the pictures. Is it a reflection of light, a dust particle flying around the room or some kind of phenomenon?

Now before anyone jumps to any conclusions, I have checked the lens on my camera to make sure it was/is clean and not damaged, sure enough it was fine, no marks or dust whatsoever. So that means it could have been dust particles floating about in the room..... well maybe!

The Orb's did appear randomly in several pictures, but even when I took more pictures at Christmas in my own house, more Orb's appeared in these photograph's randomly. What is it we were capturing in these photographs?

Since I got my digital camera back in 1999, I have taken over 6,300 pictures of Family Events, Christmas's & New Year's, Christenings, Holidays, Skywatches, In Caravan's, In The Car, Picture's Of Clouds, (Yes, Clouds Shapes and Cloud Colour's, Interest Me Too!!!) And in a some of these pictures there are Orb's. They seem to appear for no reason whatsoever! Why? Some people say it could be a reflection of the flash, which is only logical, I even think that myself. But what about pictures taken outside?

Click Here For Higher Resolution Picture A close friend of mine was shown some Orb pictures (Left) taken from St. Martin's Parish located in Wharram Percy, a lost medieval village.

Wharram Percy is located in Yorkshire, and has been occupied since the Iron Age. Romans, Anglo-Saxons, Vikings, Normans -- all have lived out their lives in this high-wold village. As an archaeological site, it was one of the most important peasant digs in England. Here you will see St. Martin's parish church, peasant house sites, and the Norman manor house.

Click Here For Higher Resolution Picture It was once thought that medieval peasant villages were "deserted" due to the months of the Black Death in 1349. Research at Wharram Percy -- and a few other villages -- has shown that, on the contrary, there are over 3000 such "deserted" villages in England and that they were depopulated by economic forces in the 15th century. Indeed, the Wharram Project, which began in 1950, has shown that many of these sites were inhabited for centuries before the middle ages. Also, the evidence gathered at Wharram Percy has added immensely to our knowledge of English medieval peasant life.

St. Martin's parish church is an analogue for the history of the village. It starts as a small private chapel and grows to incorporate two aisles as the village population grows and as the village is depopulated, the church shrinks to a single nave and, finally, like the village, to desertion.

The church has looked like this since the early 17th century. It has since lost both side aisles and chapel. The tower -- which had a high steeple in the 15th century is cracked and did fall in 1960. (See Photo Right) From the 18th century until modern times it was used by only a few families living nearby. Now it is a tourist attraction to thousands each year, I wonder if they have ever seen anything strange?

Click Here For Higher Resolution Picture Well, since seeing these photo's with Orb's and reading a little bit of the history of Wharram Percy, a few members of HUFOS, Vicki, Tony, Mark and Billy, decided to hold an impromptu skywatch in the church grounds. Vicki took our camcorder with night shot, digital camera, dictaphone, compass, map, torches and flasks.

They arrived at the church at about 11.20pm and set up the equipment, not that they were expecting to capture anything, but they had an open mind. Vicki took the digital camera out and started to take pictures randomly, although they could not see anything with their eyes, the digital camera was showing Vicki, on the display, Orb's! Was these a reflection of the flash in the camera lens or ghostly apparitions?

Click Here For Higher Resolution Picture Click Here For Higher Resolution Picture It wasn't until pictures 38, 39, 40 and 41 they saw several orbs in the cameras display. Vicki, then decided to take several shots, one after the other and these are the shot's she got.............

As you can see, three Orb's seemed to appear, two white and one orange in colour, two pictures later, (About 3 - 5 seconds), the Orb's seemed to move off to the right, now one white and one orange and to the top right of the center picture there appears to be the other white orb moving off in a up and right direction. The last picture above shows, what looks like 15 + Orb's moving off in a up and right motion. Out of the 133 pictures they took, 31 seem to have Orb's in them. Now all these cannot be put down to a reflection in the lens?

Click Here For Higher Resolution Picture Click Here For Higher Resolution Picture As you can plainly see, something appears to be in the photographs, but what?

It is one of the strangest things I have ever come across and I always had put it down to lens reflection, camera shake or insects, but surely this cannot be so.

The group has returned to the site several times and while they noticed no insects of any kind several photograph's have revealed more Orb's, even with different camera's! So where does this leave us? We are none the wiser as to what the Orb's are. Something was there, we have proof. Were these Orb's ghostly spirits from an ancient site long gone?

I, on a personal note, just don't know, but the group did tell me "There was a calming feeling as we walked around the site, but there were parts that left you feeling very uneasy."
