Is This A Rare UFO Coin? - A rare 17th century French copper coin is posing a mystery. After decades of trying to find an answer a prominent numismatic expert says it remains a complete mystery. It is just that an unidentified flying object depicted on a coin.

It was made in the 1680's in France and the design on one side looks like it could be a flying saucer in the clouds over the countryside. Mr. Kenneth E. Bressett of Colorado Springs, Colorado is a former President of the 32,000 member American Numismatic Association and owner of the coin. He stated "Is it supposed to be a UFO of some sort, or a symbolic representation of the Biblical Ezekiels's wheel? After 50 years of searching, I've heard of only one other example, and nothing to explain the unusual design."

It is not really a coin, but a "Jeton," which is a coin-like educational tool that was commonly used to help people count money, and sometimes used as a money substitute for playing games. It is about the size of a U.S. quarter-dollar and similar to thousands of other Jetson's with different religious and educational designs. It was produced and used in Europe during the 16th and 17th centuries. The design on this one could be interpreted and an UFO or maybe Ezekiel's wheel. Around the rim is written in Latin "OPPORTUNUS ADEST" which translated means "It is here at an opportune time." Bressett said "Is the object in the sky symbolic of needed rainfall, or a Biblical reference or visitors from beyond?" He said "We probably will never know for certain."

It certainly looks like an UFO to me, what else could it depict?

Has A UFO Crashed In Nepal - Tourists returning from Nepal are talking about a possible UFO crash in the Darbhanga district of Bihar that borders Nepal. The rumour is also rampant in Kathmandu, capital of Nepal and other Nepali cities. The crash site is deep in the Himalayan border of Nepal and China and according to some sources, the crash site may be close to Mount Everest and is totally inaccessible from either side. According to sources, that Chinese military is actively looking at the crash site. It is also rumoured, that Extra-terrestrials are not allowing anyone to go close to the site.

Unusual activities and tremors were felt all over the Himalayan regions from India-Nepal side, and in recent days, UFO activities have gone up very heavily in that area. No one knows why this is. The Chinese have some secret military projects in that area, is it possible that the crash was due to this?

Everything at this time of the year is just frozen and no-one can really get to the site. According to some UFO scientists, they are saying, that underground UFO bases in the regions were damaged by the tremor last week and some strange aftershocks are being felt since the large 9.0 Richter earthquake in Sumatra, Indonesia caused the huge Tsunami.

Are Chimeras Being Created? - Are Chimeras being created Chinese. Scientists are said to have successfully fused human cells with rabbit eggs and created Chimeras. Creatures that are part human and part animal. A "Chimera" originally referred to a monster in Greek mythology, with a Lion's head, Goat's body and a snake's tail.

The embryos were the first human-animal chimeras ever successfully created and were allowed to develop for several days in a laboratory dish before the researchers destroyed them. In 2004 researchers at the Mayo Clinic created pigs with human blood flowing through their bodies. The reason for the development was to create stem cells. Another is that the more humanlike an animal is, the better it is for testing drugs. Mice an be bioengineered to produce both human sperm and eggs, meaning that a human embryo could be created that would have as his parents - two mice.

Have the scientist gone further that we know about an created a full term "Chimera?" could they account for all these strange creature seen?

Solar Flare - A big solar flare was recently unleashed which caused brilliant auroras all over Europe on the 21st January, 2005.

A giant sunspot "720" erupted on the 20th January, 2005 unleashing a powerful X7 class solar flare. The blast hurled a coronal mass ejection (CME) into space which crashed into the Earth's magnetic field.and sparked the strongest radiation storm since October, 1989.

Bright Lights Spotted Over Scarborough. (1st February 2005) - 14 moving bright lights were spotted in the sky over Scarborough, making claims that the East Coast is the UFO capital of Europe.

Pat Glenwright of Grange Avenue says she saw the lights shoot across the sky at 4.30.pm. "There were above 14 so it definitely wasn't an aeroplane" she said. "They were flying in a group and it looked from here as though they were the size of light bulbs.". A friend said "They were bright and were very high up It was very noticeable, they came from the right and left and looked as thought they were heading towards Whitby."

Chris Parr of the British UFO Hunters group said in December, "The coastal area between Filey and Scarborough was the British UFO hotspot for activity."

Russ Kellett a Filey UFO hunter said "There are more recorded sightings of UFO's in Filey and along the East Coast than anywhere else in the country."

Origin Of Mysterious Rocks - Stanton James bought two rocks three years ago from a man for $5 and they have posed a mystery to him ever since. He keeps the rocks safe in plastic bubble sheets but when he takes them out of the bubble wrap you can see what makes them special. When a flashlight is held up to one end they will make the rocks light up like small lamps. A black light reveals spots on them that glow green and then fade slowly after the light is turned off. James has been to experts to try and find help in figuring out whether the rocks are some kind of fossilized organism. He has only been able to find out that they are made of "Silica" which is a commonly found mineral. He thinks that the silica could have replaced the organism. Some people were worried in case they were radioactive but a test with a Geiger counter shows they are safe.

James said that after three years trying to find out about these rocks he is fairly sure that the rocks are not organic in origin and believes that the rocks might have once been living, but he has not yet to find a scientist who agrees with this theory. He hopes that someone might recognise his rocks as similar to rocks that other people might have in their private collection.

Space Shuttle - The target for the first post-Columbia shuttle missions is to launch in mid-May, but the International Space Station is not ready to serve as a safe haven for shuttle crew members stranded by ship damage, the Russian commander of the next station crew has said. Cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev said "Nasa's emergency plan for the crew of the damaged space shuttle to take refuge on the orbiting station until a rescue ship could be sent raised safety issues" and he had pressed managers on the issue.

Krikalev, 46 a veteran of three long duration flights and two shuttle missions said at a news conference at the Houston's Johnson Space Centre. "We need to prepare a backup plan for this scenario. It's going to be difficult, The station cannot stay in this configuration for a long time."

Nasa's plans stems from a recommendation by a panel investigating the Columbia shuttle disaster two years ago.

Krikalev, Nasa astronaut John Phillips, 53, and European Space Agency astronaut Roberto Vittori, 40 are scheduled to be launched to the International Space Station in mid-April aboard a Russian Soyuz rocket. About a month into their planned six-month stay, the crew are scheduled to host the first U.S. space shuttle crew to visit the station since before the February 2003 accident.

The primary target of the first post - Columbia shuttle mission is to test in-flight heat shield repair techniques and the crew will deliver critical equipment to the space station. Some of the gear is to outfit the station to serve as a safe haven if another shuttle is damaged.

Although Nasa will have a second shuttle ready for launch in case of a problem with the Discovery, the agency would have to go ahead with the mission well before an accident investigation or hardware modifications could be made.

Krikalev said "If the situation which require people to stay above the station happened, it will be a very difficult decision to send another shuttle to try to rescue them." The concerns of Krikalev centres around adequate air, water and food supplies, as well as how nine people would physically and mentally cope in a small space for a prolonged time. Also, access to the station's exercise equipment, which is critical during long duration space flight, would be limited.

Evidence Of Present Life Found On Mars - Nasa Scientists have told a group of space officials at a private meeting that they have found strong evidence that life may exist today on Mars. It is hidden away in caves and sustained by pockets of water.

The scientists, Carol Stoker and Larry Lemke of Nasa's Ames Research Centre in Silicon Valley said that they have "Submitted their findings to the journal Nature for publication in May," and their paper currently is being peer reviewed.

Stoker and Lemke according to several attendees of the private meeting have found signs of possible biological activity remarkably similar to those recently discovered in caves here on Earth, but this is not direct proof of life on Mars but methane signatures.

Stoker and other researchers have long theorized that the Martian subsurface could harbour biological organisms that have developed unusual strategies for existing in extreme environments. The two scientists based their case in part on Mars fluctuating methane signatures that could be a sign of an active underground biosphere and nearby surface concentrations of the sulphate Jarosite, which is a mineral salt found on Earth in hot springs and other acidic bodies of water.

The Opportunity Rover backed up the case for water on Mars when it discovered Jarosite and other mineral salts on a rocky outcropping in the Merdiani Planum.

Additional light maybe shed on this when Nasa launch a powerful new rover in the year 2009. Dubbed the Mars Science Laboratory, the drill equipped rover will be able to go further than any of its predecessors and will be carrying an advanced mass spectrometer to sniff out methane with greater sensitivity.

A Tiny UFO Caught On Camera - In one of India's premiere research and development laboratories, they are testing a chemical-imaging camera that is capable of capturing the chemical composition and distribution of a sample in seconds. The camera can quickly pick up a specific chemical signature and generate a three dimensional data cube of spectral, spatial, and intensity information which helps the scientists analyze objects and its chemical composition. When they were analyzing data they came across something very strange and bizarre. A set of photos showed a tiny miniature UFO. None of the other cameras there captured the images but the chemical imaging camera picked it up. According to some of the scientists, the group is now investigating if invisible UFO's are all around us.

Many of these crafts are remote controlled without any life forms inside. Even the naked eye cannot see them. These tiny UFO's, when captured by the chemical imaging camera made manoeuvres, clearly suggesting that they easily detected the presence of the chemical imaging cameras in their vicinity.

UFO Seen Over Devon - According to newly released secret documents disclosed to the Western Daily Press released under the Freedom of Information a great bright light first appeared above the village of Iwerne Minster in Dorset, scorching a trail through the sky. Eight days later, a similar object was seen above Devizes, Wiltshire and the same evening above Swindon.

The west has been a hot spot for UFO's for many years and the longest ley line in the country runs from Dundry near Bristol down to Salisbury and some say that UFO's have regularly been spotted near ley lines.They are supposedly prehistoric routes across the landscape.

According to the files, last year there were a total of 88 UFO sightings reported to the Ministry of Defence UFO unit, five of which were spotted in the West Country. On the 24th September an object was reported at 3.50.am. above Iwerne Minster. It looked like a great bright light and was really intense according to the witness and looked like a big ball of fire moving rapidly to the ground.

Another report from Devizes recorded an object that looked like a big ball of fire coming down to the ground with a tail and sparks coming off the end of it.

The same day an orange object was spotted above Swindon.

Another report on the 20th May last year describes the UFO as having grooves and windows, but no room for humans. This was seen clearly by the witness.

In July 1977, Flt Lt. A.M.Wood reported "Bright objects hanging over the sea. The closest object was luminous, round and four to five times larger than a Whirlwind helicopter. The UFO's were reported to be three miles out to sea at a height of 5,000 feet."

These are the latest files to be declassified by the MOD and are not as complete as the 1976-77 files which were released last month.

Asteroid To Fly By Earth - A huge asteroid is expected to fly by the Earth in 2029 and will be visible from Europe, Africa and Asia, but not Australia. This event will be the closest to the Earth since records began and no asteroid has ever been visible to the unaided eye without the aid of a telescope from the Earth.

It is estimated to be more than 320 m. wide. It is named 2004 MN4 and it was discovered last June and then seen again in December, when the scientists said it had the highest odds of hitting the Earth ever given to an asteroid. Subsequent observations have refined its future path and Nasa scientist said on the 13th April 2029 the asteroid will be about 36,350 kilometres from the Earths centre.

Out of the 10 known closest asteroid fly-bys, 2004 MN4 is the largest object and only 2 have come closer and they were only tens of metres wide. The asteroid will pass through the constellation of Cancer and observers with clear skies in Europe, Africa and parts of Asia will be able to see a star-like point of light. Usually, asteroids of this size only approach Earth every 1300 years.

Huge "Star-Quake" In The Milky Way - An amount of energy released in a star explosion on the far side of our galaxy, 50,000 light-years away has stunned astronomers. The flash of radiation on the 27th December was so powerful that it bounced off the Moon and lit up the Earth's atmosphere. The blast occurred on the surface of an exotic star - a super magnetic neutron star called SGR 1806-20. If this explosion had been with 10 light years, Earth could have suffered a mass extinction.

This is most probably the biggest explosion observed by humans within our galaxy and one flare on SGR 1806-20 unleashed about 10,000 trillion trillion trillion watts.

This is a once in a lifetime event and it was observed that this object only 20km across on the other side of the galaxy, released more energy in a 10th of a second that the Sun emits in 100,000 years. The event overwhelmed detectors on space borne telescopes. The light detected from the giant flare was far brighter in gamma-rays that visible light or X-rays. This super dense object is a neutron star and it is composed entirely of neutrons and is the remnant collapsed core of a once giant star. It is now thought that this remnant is just 20km across and spins so fast it completes one revolution every 7.5. seconds and has a super strong magnetic field.

SGR 1806-20 is sited in the southern constellation Sagittarius and its distance puts it beyond the centre of the Milky Way and a safe distance from the Earth. The high energy initial burst of radiation quickly subsided but there continued to be a afterglow at longer radio wavelengths. This radio emission persists as the shockwave from the explosion moves out through space, ploughing through nearby gas and exciting matter to extraordinary energies. Scientists can go on observing this radio source for much of this year and the work is being done at several centres around the globe.

Huge Triangular UFO Seen Over Paris - A huge triangular object has just been observed over Paris. The object was seen at about 9.50pm moving slowly through the night sky almost at rooftop level. The object was spotted in a small public park at the corner of Rue d'Alesia and Rue Vercingeton in the 1st Arrondissment. The craft was slowly moving across the sky and kept disappearing over the roofs of buildings and unfortunately was only witnessed by one person, no one else noticed it.

On the 30th June, 2004 another witness observed a triangle object which was lit with a white light at each corner and a red one in the centre. This object passed silently overhead. Shortly after a second triangle appeared and this was brightly lit and remained visible for a few seconds.

On a clear night in Hastings, Minnesota, multiple witnesses saw a triangular craft approach from the east at a height speed an then stopped dead in its tracks. The object had a reddish orange light at each corner. These lights sometimes turned greenish and it sat motionless and silent for half a minute and then made a slow 180 degree turn which left a vapour trail. It sat motionless for a few seconds and then took off at an amazing speed. At about 15 miles away it stopped dead again and then lifted straight up and disappeared.

Since the 1950's these triangle have been noticed worldwide.

Russian Spaceship To Fly To The Moon - A new Russian spaceship is to fly to the Moon and to the orbital station.

The latest development of the Russian space industry will be shown at the airshow in Le Bourget this year.

The new spacecraft will weigh 14.5. tons and can deliver up to 700 kilos of cargo to the space station and bring back 500 kilos of cargo. It will also give the cosmonauts much better conditions when they return to Earth. "Klipper" is meant for 25 launches.

The new manned reusable spaceship "Klipper" will take its first flight from Moscow to Paris this year. The spaceship will not leave the Earths atmosphere instead it is planned that the ship will be carried onboard a heavy transportation aircraft.

The new spaceship will be capable of flying to the International Space Station and also the Moon. It will be very comfortable, it will have comfortable armchairs for six members of the crew and the craft is capable of landing on usual aerodromes with first-class blacktop as a conventional airplane.

Endeavour Moved To New Home - The Orbiter Endeavour has made a trip to a hangar near the shuttle-landing strip at the Kennedy Space Centre. It was towed there so workers can reconfigure platforms and perform maintenance in the Orbiter Processing Facility 2.

Usually, the shuttles use the Vehicle Assembly Building as a backup garage, but potentially hazardous operations there prompted the move to the Florida space Authority's Reusable Launch Vehicle hangar.

The Endeavour which is the youngest of the three remaining shuttle is also the farthest from flight. It is in the middle of an overhaul and is missing wing panels, engines and other major parts, and maybe not ready to fly until next year of even later.

The Discovery is scheduled to fly as early as May 15th and Atlantis is ready to fly in July if all goes well. The shuttle Atlantis must be ready to fly in case the Discovery crew need to be rescued.

If the shuttle should sustain damage that would make it too dangerous to re-enter the atmosphere then the International Space Station would provide a safe haven. The second shuttle would be needed to bring them home.

Whilst the Endeavour is in the hangar, workers will perform a test to make sure a new ground radar that will be used for debris detection during launches won't disrupt the shuttles' electronics.
