Moon Hoax - There has been a lot of speculation about the fact of whether or not the Americans went to the Moon. There are many for the hoax theory, including myself who having read some of the articles published wonder if America pulled off the biggest hoax in history. Now the US Space Agency (NASA) have cancelled the book intended to challenge the conspiracy theorists. They have declined to comment on their decision which has resulted from bad publicity after the announcement of the project. Nasa had hired Jim Oberg to do the job for a fee of $15,000. He is now going to do the work himself, but it will be an unofficial publication, after he has got alternative funding. The book is to give a point by point rebuttal of the theory that the Appollo landings were faked.It will explain why the flag appears to move, shadows fall in all strange directions, there are no stars to be seen, and all the “Fact's” conspiracy theorists say, point to a “Hoax”.It has been said that some commentators have stated that by making the Oberg book an official Nasa Publication, the agency was actually giving a certain credibility to the hoax theory. We will have to wait and see what happens when the book is published. But it will take a lot of convincing me, what about the theories of going through the Van Allen Radiation Belt. How come the films in ;the camera where not destroyed by going though this? Of course we will never get told the truth, this conspiracy will rain on for as long as Roswell, but of course that is another story.

Mysterious Plane Crashes that can never be explained. Plane crashes seem to be happening all the time at the moment. This kind of tragedy has become almost a usual thing, but according to statistics we are safer on a plane than in a car. The government nearly always concludes that the aircrash happens over a technical malfunction or pilot mistake. Sometimes, a crash remains a mystery forever. These mysterious accidents happen due to something totally unbelievable, or anomalous. They are UFO'S, Ball Lightening, meteorites, energetic fields that we know nothing about, or, the latest theory is some unknown forms of Life in the upper layers of the Earth's atmosphere. Since the photo's of ROD'S have come to light, this to me seems plausible, as some are saying that “Rod's” could be some “form of life”.

There were 6 accidents registered during the period of 1991 to 1993 were UFO's where seen to be very close to passenger jets. At the beginning of 1995 a Boeing 737 nearly slammed into a triangle kind of Ufo, which flew passed the jetliner at very high speed. The same year, another Boeing 737, the crew saw a ball-like object on the radar screen and the flight security system, gave a warning of a possible collision. A well known Russian Ufologist, Vladimir Azhazha, says a plane disappeared in Siberia in April 1970 and about 20 big UFO's were registered on the site of the planes supposed crash. Battle Planes are supposed to down or arrest all kinds of trespasser's but in 1967. there was an unidentified spherical object seen above Cuba. 2 Mig-21 planes were ordered to down the object, but all navigation equipment of the jets went out of order, including missiles and targeting systems. One of the plane's which got too close to the UFO, blew up. A Russian SU-27 vanished in 1992 in Russia's Far East, and no one knows what happened to it. In 1981 at the height of 1300 meters a plane was damaged by ball lightning, Boris Korotkow, the pilot, said that the lightning was huge – about 5 meters in diameter. But luckily, the pilot managed to land the plane alive. There are also theories, about some kind of energetic field that can fall into the Earth's atmosphere from Space.

Also – “distant extrasensory impact on a human being with a goal of causing damage to health” – ie. The evil eye. Russia has been known for this type of experiments for some years now. But the weirdest accident happened in 1964.in Alaska. The pilot of a small private plane sent a SOS and said something about a very bright light and some weird creature in the sky. Then the communication stopped. One of the space satellites took a picture of a strange throbbing amoeba-like form, which looked like a living object. It was registered by the satellite in the upper layers of the Earth's atmosphere. Many ufologist believe that there are some unknown forms of life that inhabit the atmosphere of the planet. So we can only wait and see – if time will show this to be true. Our own HUFOS slogan, “Look Up To The Skies, See Something Report It!" Seems very appropriate in this case.

Flying Cities aren't a fiction according to the latest story to emerge from Pravda. - At the end of 1997, the Chile Air Force Command announced the creation of a Commission for Studies of anomalous atmosphere phenomena. The commission was to be attached to the Civil Aviation central board. Appointed head of the commission was Colonel Enzo Dinosera. The commission was created on the initiative of the Ex-Commander of the Chilean Air Force. Ramon Vega, who is currently a senator, he himself saw UFO's twice, and believes that they exist. In 1998, the crew of a spy plane saw “the lights of a City” below them, they assumed the lights were the city of Anto Fagasta, which is the largest port in the north of Chile. But suddenly to their amazement, the “city” took off and flew away, frightening the crew half to death. In 1996, in the southern part of Chile, another flying city was seen. Aircraft mechanic, Joaquin Himenes flying from Los-Cerrilos airport in Santiago saw a huge Ufo in October. Traveling at about 50 miles per hour (which seems to me, rather slow) It was surrounded with a green phosphoric glow and it had a red light going through its bottom. It approached the landing strip and hovered in the air before a cabin of air traffic controllers. The whole event lasted for 15 minutes before soaring upwards and flying away.

An even stranger story about a “Flying House” is among the recently registered cases in Chile. In 1990, April 16th, an UFO overturned a house apparently. Raul Hayardo, Investigator says that he took pictures of the site. A red semi-circular object with white flashing lights flew directly above one of the buildings at a very low height of about ten meters. The family were asleep in the house. The UFO, flew above the left side of the building and lifted it a little. The house fell on one side, and the front door was blocked. The family had to break off some planks to get out of the house. They saw the strange object go up and hit against some transmission facilities. A bright flash followed and it soured up and disappeared within several seconds. What intrigue's me about these cases are they usual state “Photo's taken” but we never get to see them, also, it is rather puzzling in all these cases, why the papers and TV. do not cover them especially when radar have tracked these objects in some cases. Maybe they think the general public would not be interested, or are they just trying to keep the whole “UFO” subject quite and under wraps.

Space Elevator to the Stars. – The latest idea from Nasa is to construct a vertical railroad stretching into space. This is now no longer a fantasy. High Lift Systems in Seattle, Washington are selling the idea. For the last few months the Officials have been talking with Nasa and the Federal Aviation Administration, as well as the National Reconnaissance Office. The testing of the prototype space elevator is near at hand. The strongest link in this strange scheme is being done by carbon nanotube research community. The co-founder of High Lift Systems formed earlier this year, Brad Edwards confirms “They are actually doing quit well”. $40. million dollars is being sought by the firm, more than half of which will be for Space Elevator engineering, design and testing. $13. million dollars is earmarked for carbon nanotube composite research – the ultra strong material is the key to building an elevator to space. Several millions of dollars to the project have already been committed by private investors etc. Detailed design work on the space elevator concept has been made possible through Nasa's Institute for Advanced Concepts.

The Space Elevator in its simplest form, is a high-wired act for celestial mechanics. One end of the cable will be attached to an offshore sea platform. The cable stretches up, reaching beyond geosnynchronous orbit, at 21,700 miles. Twenty tons of cable and reel would be kicked up to geosynchronous altitude by spacecraft to get the project started. On the space end of the cable is a counter weight. Once in place, the competing forces of gravity at the lower end and outward centripetal acceleration at the farther end keep the cable under tension and stationary over a single position on Earth. The cable can then be ascended by mechanical means. The cable is a super-strong carbon nanotube composite. The composite development is moving quickly and they have very little doubt that it can be built technically. However, specific issues still remain, as well as finding funds to solve these issues. A lot of computer modeling simulations are being done and evaluations of how carbon nanotube composites react to the space environment and being peppered by space debris. Leaders in space tether and carbon nanotube composites are onboard the space elevator team as well as space hardware developers. Overall progress is being made in attaining the goal of operating a 21st. century elevator to Space.

Chilean desert – New Astronomy Capital of the World. – Chile is looking to overtake Hawaii as the Top Hot Spot for star gazing with 3 high powered telescopes. With consistently clear skies, Northern Chile is one of the best windows on Earth to view the stars etc. and is home to several world class telescopes. A new optical telescope is up and running. Chilean astronomer Edwardo Hardy said the planned Atacama Large Millimeter Array Radio telescope (ALMA) which will link 64 – 39 foot antennas when fully operational in 2011. “It will revolutionize the study of formation of galaxies and stars”. And “We'll be able to see things we've never seen before. The new devices will also help to identify planets in other solar systems, assist in the search for life on other planets, and help determine the size, shape and other details of the universe." astronomers say. The arid, cloud-free climate of northern Chile, home to the Atacama Desert, the driest in the world, is ideal for stargazing. ESO, a consortium of eight European nations, built the Very Large Telescope (VLT), actually four telescopes with 27 foot mirrors, north of La Serena in the Atacama Desert in l999. Work is continuing to connect the mirrors to create a device with the power of a 52.5 foot telescope. When it is completed this year, it will be the world's most powerful optical telescope, eclipsing Hawaii's Keck Observatory.

The Sunday Telegraph reported this week that the new VLT telescope can see a Human Hair at 10 miles. Estaban Lllanes, an ESO spokesman said “You will be able to see a man on the moon”. Construction of ALMA on a 16,500 foot plateau in the Atacama Desert will start next year. It will be fully operational in 2011. With 64 antennas it will let astronomers peer through the impenetrable layer of cosmic dust and gas that enshrouds galaxies and stars. And will open windows in the universe.If as stated, you can see a “Man on the Moon”. Let's hope that they point the telescope at the landing sites and on the objects left behind on the moon on previous missions and prove once and for all, “If man did actually go to the Moon”. But if we do see photo's of these things, are we to believe them? – Photo's can be faked. What we need is an independent photo to be taken, by someone with no connection to NASA and then, maybe, the Moon Hoax can be proved for once and all.

Rendlesham file to be published. – The British Government is to publish files on reported UFO’s sightings, under the Freedom of Information Act. Amongst the documents to be published, is this country’s best known case of “Rendlesham Forest” which occurred in Suffolk on the 27th December, 1980. A mysterious craft was spotted by American airmen at RAF Bentwaters, Woodbridge, Suffolk. Until now, only about 20 members of the public have seen the file. This file has been available to the public for sometime, but only at the discretion of the Ministry of Defense.

Apparently, the government are going to publish it on the Internet at Ministry of Defence – along with other files which refer to UFO sightings. The “Freedom of Information Minister” Yvette Cooper says in a statement “These first steps mark important progress toward changing the culture of government and extending the public’s right to know what is being done in their name." Apparently, the government intends to repeal or amend upto 100 pieces of legislation which currently prohibit disclosure of information. It aims to replace them with provisions of a new “Freedom of Information Act” passed in 2000. Lets hope that we see more documents released, but of course the document’s we all hope to see are these pertaining to “Roswell”, let’s hope one day these too might be available, we can only keep our fingers crossed on that one.

Art Work heading to Mars – British artist Damien Hirst will have artwork onboard the British Beagle 2 spacecraft which will travel to Mars next year. It is one of Hirst’s famous spot paintings – Rows of different coloured spots. These will be used as a special instrument calibration chart. Beagle 2 will be launched from Kazakhstan in May next year. It’s missions is to see whether there is – or was – life on Mars. This is part of the European Space Agency’s Mars Express Mission.

The spacecraft will be put in orbit around Mars and Beagle 2 will be dropped onto the surface. It will use parachutes and aircushions to make (hopefully) a soft touchdown. (after some of the last attempts which went wrong, we all better keep our fingers crossed this time). If it is successful, information should reach us in a year’s time. Hirst’s painting has been painted with pigments that will withstand the rigours of space flight. It will be used as a reference chart so scientist’s back on earth can check whether any of the spacecrafts instruments have been damaged during flight and landing. Also onboard will be a track from British rock band “Blur” This will be beamed back from the probe, and act as a call sign to say that Beagle 2 is safely on the surface. The tune has been written by band members Alex James and Dave Rowntree and is based on a mathematical sequence. I have already listened to the tune on the internet, and it is quite good.

Curious Contrail 28.11.02 – Last Wednesday the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) received unverified reports of a contrail of unknown origin. It appeared in the vicinity of the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean. It was reported to be heading towards the United States and commercial airline pilots reported seing it over Florida and later over Indiana. The Pentagon released a statement on Thursday saying NORAD had sent scrambled fighter aircraft from several bases, but no visual or confirmed radar contact was made with the source. NORAD is coordinating with FAA to determine any further information.
