DECHMONT WOODS VISIT
The first time I visited the Dechmont Woods site where Bob Taylor had his UFO abduction in 1979 I had no idea just how big the woods were and thought I would find the area without many problems.How
wrong I was,I was driven there by my youngest son Ross. We parked the car and proceeded to look for the site.
What happened next was indeed a piece of good fortune,we saw a gentleman coming towards us walking his dogs. I introduced myself and asked him if he had any idea where the site was. His name was
Bob Cochrane who lives nearby in Dechmont village itself.
Back in 1979 he worked in the woods and Bob Taylor was his foreman.He remembered the incident very well even though he had not seen anything himself.He told me we were miles away from the site but
if I waited while he took his dogs back to his house in the village he would get his car and come back and take us to the site of Bob Taylors encounter.
When he came back we followed him in my sons car for miles then he pulled into a clearing in the woods. It was all on foot after that and it was a fair trek until we finally reached another
clearing that had the large stone that had been erected to the memory of Bob Taylors encounter. Bob Cochran told me that Bob Taylor had suffered a lot of ridicule after he spoke of his experience
and had to leave the area.
I recently saw Bob Taylor on TV ,he is an old man now,but his last words on the subject even after all this time was ”I know what I saw”.

Alien Caught on Film? MAY 10TH 2004
Scott Corrales quotes Chilean civil engineer Germán Pereira as saying, "On May 10 this year, I decided to take some photos at Parque Forestal, taking 10 shots which I downloaded to my PC the
following day." When he looked at them, he was surprised to see the image of an alien.
"I thought it would be interesting to photograph a group of Carabineros (state police) on horseback patrolling the sector… It was a cloudy day and the sun was hidden, for which reason my
digital camera (Kodak DX6490) adjusted to low speed (1/10 seg.)." He says. "…This is the reason why the photo shows motion…I employed the camera's optical zoom (10x)
which added to the blurred result." The white spot in the middle of the photo may have been caused by the streetlights, which began to turn on and off in sequence. (the way they often do for
UFO Experiencers).
He says, "The fact is that I am very impressed by this image. I attest to the fact that it is not a fraud nor anything similar. For this reason I have made it public and I contacted the staff of
CIFAE Chile. I would like to know the true nature of the image that appears in it and if anyone has ever caught anything similar in a photo."

GRANGEMOUTH PHOTOGRAPH
In last months newsletter I printed the above photograph and stated it was taken by a professional photographer at the BP Complex in Grangemouth. I printed this information in good faith but
unfortunately it was untrue.The photograph was actually taken by a Mr Phil Trevis who was up at Polmont Reservoir overlooking the BP complex taking photographs for a project for college. The camera
he was using was a Halina 35mm compact camera. I would like to thank Brian Allan of SPI for this information and keeping me right.
MEN IN BLACK
One of the most unusual aspects of the UFO mystery is the Men in Black (MIB) phenomenon. It involves the subtle intimidation of UFO witnesses by strange visitors dressed almost entirely in
black. The recent movie on the subject trivialised the whole issue, but what is the truth concerning MIB? Is it all just a baseless fantasy or is there really an agency that sends out darkly
dressed men to secure peoples silence?
After UFO sightings, witnesses are often visited by “men-in-black”, who are much more bizarre than any characters Hollywood has created. Most reports on the MIB speak of the computer-like
quality of their voices. Their movements are jerky, awkward and machine like. They usually walk around in pairs.

The Hessdalen Mystery LightsSince the 1940's, the small Norwegian town of Hessdalen has played host to a number of strange, unexplained lights. Like other UFO "hotspots" around the world (including our own Bonnybridge), numerous sightings have been made over the years, with the local people convinced something unusual is happening over their town.
Unusually though, rather than just ignoring the phenomena, or simply "talking it up" in the media - the Norwegians decided to actually DO something about it: Project Hessdalen was born. Project Hessdalen began in 1983 and is run by Oestfold University College. Using a variety of instruments, such as geiger counters, radar and various cameras, the Project has attempted to find an explanation for the strange lights. In addition, the investigators set up a "triangle" - three cameras at different points converging on the same area, which could be used to give three different views of any phenomena. The camera's are set up to take pictures automatically when a new light source is detected. To date, the project has come up with many impressive pictures and continues to this day although apparently activity recently has been very rare. Joseph A. WalkerOn May 11, 1962 NASA pilot Joseph Walker said that one of his tasks was to detect UFOs during his X-15 flights. He had filmed five or six UFOs during his record breaking fifty-mile-high flight in April, 1962. It was the second time he had filmed UFOs in flight. During a lecture at the Second National Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Space Research in Seattle, Washington he said: "I don't feel like speculating about them. All I know is what appeared on the film which was developed after the flight." - Joseph Walker. To date none of those films has been released to the public for viewing.
E2WUFOS MEETING JUNE 10th
E2WUFOS held a group meeting on the above date. The agenda was Roswell & Area 51. After watching the video “The Roswell Crash” the group had an open discussion on the subject. I had put together some display boards with photographs & maps of both areas. Cathy had brought a collection of photographs she had taken on her trip to New Mexico. We then discussed the Chilean photograph (shown in the article on page three of this Newsletter) Many explanations for this photograph were put forward. As usual we had an interesting evening with some members meeting for the first time. We also discussed our skywatch which is happening in July up on the A70 the date for this has still to be announced but I will give members plenty of time to see if they can make it.

Since I was about 17 I've occasionally suffered from sleep paralysis, or "night terrors". Basically, when this happens I "waken" from my sleep to find myself paralysed and experiencing
something frightening - lying face down in a pool of water, knowing a burglar is in the house with me - that sort of thing. Bizarrely though, while I feel awake, I am actually still asleep and
dreaming. Eventually I come to realise I'm asleep and try to wake up but find myself paralysed and unable to move while the bad experience continues inexorably. I will finally manage to wake myself
and it becomes clear I have simply been dreaming, although it is much more vivid than any normal dream.
"So what's this got to do with Ufology?" you ask. Well, one of the sleep paralysis episodes I had a few years ago involved the "Greys." I had fallen asleep with the light on and I
"woke up" to find the room brightly lit, but I could see a head at the bedroom door. While I struggled in vain to move, the figure at the door slowly moved into the room and came to the side of my
bed, followed by three or four little beings like himself. Needless to say, I was rather frightened by this, although the aliens never seemed particularly threatening in any way. Having ANYONE walk
into your room while you sleep is pretty scary! The beings were very small - like children, with large heads, big dark eyes and grey skin - the archetypal "Grey" in fact.
Anyway, I finally snapped out of the paralysis and woke up, to find the room exactly as it had been in the dream (minus the Greys of course). To me, this was just another sleep paralysis
episode - but if I had never suffered from "night terrors" before, I would probably have assumed I had been abducted and been probed horribly by these little figures! I would suggest that a
great number of reported "alien abductions" are nothing more than this type of vivid dream. Some people suffer the same thing every time they experience sleep paralysis - if you had such
vivid dreams as this wouldn't you suspect something was actually happening to you? Combined with innocent little coincidences, such as bruises appearing on your body, unexplained pains, feelings of
nervousness in your everyday life - I believe it would be easy to convince yourself you were an "abductee."
I don't suggest for a minute that all reported abductions are sleep paralysis - I suspect a lot more is going on than we know about, quite possibly REAL alien abductions in some cases. But I do
think a significant proportion of abductees are just suffering sleep paralysis and I would like to see a proper scientific study of this sometime in the future.
