Hiya group March already, the year is flying in. not be long until the bad weathers gone and we can get down to organising our next skywatch. as I said in last
months newsletter some of us visited Cairnpapple hill with a view to using it as the site of the next skywatch. I have had a lot of feed back from members who would like Cairnpapple to be the place for it. I tend to agree it's a very mysterious place in its own
right and should prove ideal as a venue for our skywatch.
Betty & Barney Hill
The most famous abduction of recent times concerns Betty & Barney Hill. an otherwise perfectly ordinary American couple who revealed under hypnosis in 1964 that they'd been the subjects of experiments. the hills claimed that while driving home from Canada
on the 19th of September in 1963 they observed a bright light near the moon that seemed to be increasing in intensity. they stopped their car to get a better look at the light through binoculars believing it to be an aircraft.
The Hills continued their journey but soon noticed the light was getting closer and closer .later under hypnotic regression they revealed they had been abducted. both claimed to have been subjected to fertility tests and shown a map of the aliens home which they

Last year I was contacted by someone in the USA who told me betty had cancer and was dying they said her only pleasure was receiving and reading letters and could I write to her but not to expect a reply. I did write to betty telling her about our group and
that I personally believed what they claimed happened to them did happen, I never got a reply of course but I hope betty got the letter and also got some pleasure from reading it.
Was Travis Walton Lying?
Arch USA sceptic Philip Klass believes the whole Travis Walton affair was an elaborate hoax perpetrated by the logging team. he has discovered that the team were contracted to clear a section of forest and that they had fallen behind with the work. Klass
heard that the company paying the contract had written in a penalty clause whereby any delays to the work would result in financial penalties. Klass concludes that the team leader Mike Rogers approached the other team members and together they concocted a
story that could not be proven either way in an attempt to escape the terms of the contract.
What Klass cannot account for however is the simple fact that Travis did actually disappear and when he returned he was deeply traumatised. Yet it's interesting to note that the contractors did back down on the penalty clause.
Daily Record 20th Feb. 2004<
The daily record carried a story on the above date regarding a UFO reported over Plymouth in England. on January the 28th. A dockworker was trying out his new digital camera just before 6pm in the city. he was amazed an hour later to see the photographs.
the photographs in the record are not of a quality good enough to reproduce here but I have written to Bob Boyd chairman of the Plymouth UFO Research Group asking if he has copies of the originals he could e-mail me. To date I have not heard anything but

Red Disc Hovers Over Carnoustie - 12th March 1999
On the above date a UFO spotted in the Angus skies near Carnoustie left people mystified. a strange red disc was seen moving about in sky between 6:30 and 6:55am that morning. one Carnoustie resident who wished to remain anonymous said he had been
fairly sceptical about such things but wanted an explanation of what he had seen.
Neither the coastguard or members of staff at RAF Leuchars could shed any light on the sighting. a member of the fife coastguard said there had been no reports of flares or other lights. a spokesman at RAF Leuchars discounted any official aerial activity from
the Fife airbase. I know of no operations in the area by any of our flights he said………… so what was it?

The Lonnie Zamora UFO Incident
April 24th 1964 Lonnie Zamora a policeman in the city of Socorro New Mexico was in a high speed car chase on the outskirts of town. during the pursuit he became aware of a cone of blue flame in the distance at a height of up to 2,000 feet. Zamora moved
towards what appeared to be an overturned car with two people nearby. he radioed the police station to report the accident. after climbing a small hill he realised it was not a car at all.
he saw a white egg shaped object that looked like it was made of highly polished metal standing on 4 legs. the two beings beside the craft spotted Zamora and seemed to react as if in shock. he then heard the slamming of heavy doors and a bright blue and
orange flame appeared beneath the craft. the craft rose slowly into the air then moved quickly across the desert and out of sight.
Zamora`s account was validated by both blue book and J. Allen Hynek. the blast marks on the scorched earth were analysed but no conclusions were made. you can read the whole of this incident at our

Crashed UFO In Russia?
One of our members Paul found this photograph of a supposed crashed UFO in Russia taken in the 1940`s. he found it on Apra`s website. there was no information with the photograph but I know I have it on file someplace and will try and find it and put the
details in the next newsletter.

UFO Crash In England?
RAF Cosgrove 1963:
According to various sources on the 10th December 1963 2 RAF personnel observed a strange domed object fall behind a hanger at RAF Cosgrove, Wolverhampton, England. the 2 men stated that the object swept the airfield with a strange green beam.
however when they returned with help the object was gone.
The 2 men were the allegedly subjected to a rigorous interrogation and the events covered up. a couple of days later a very large transport plane landed, which was extremely unusual for this base and was loaded up with a large hidden object.

Well sad news indeed UFO magazine has printed its last issue. I have heard various reasons for this but I read a copy of a letter by Graham Birdsall`s widow & daughter stating that the UFO magazine was Graham's life and now he was sadly no longer with us
the Birdsall family decided to close it down as they were not happy running it. although it is very sad to lose the only UK UFO magazine that's available on the new stands we all have to respect the families wishes. hopefully somebody may step in and buy it
even at this late stage.

Daylight Sightings
On Tuesday the 23rd of March Cathy and I travelled through to Midlothian in her car to visit one of our members Jackie. he had a video of two daylight sightings he had filmed. he gave me a copy of the tape, Jim and I have spent some time analysing it and
I have to tell you Jackie has caught two very clear UFO's on tape. what they are we are not quite sure of yet but we will keep you updated.
